The current Eagle Standard logo

The Eagle Standard is the main newsgroup around which anything dealing with the Total War aspect of the community, forum reports, AAR submissions, AAR reviews, mod reviews, TW fansite reviews, editorials, modding team interviews, and anything else relevant to the TWC modding community and TW community as a whole is covered.

The Eagle Standard is not to be confused with the Helios, which is another newspaper published every fortnight for TWC, but is primarily concerned with the happenings in the forum, as opposed to the Total War games.

The Eagle Standard releases every last Monday of the month, and is currently on Volume VI, Issue X.

Here are the Content Writers for the Eagle Standard, poor saps that are somehow stuck with contributing one article at least with every publication. Calvin: Calvin is a highly respected individual around the TWC forums. He has contributed extensively in the past to the AARs and AAR forum reports, as well as the RTW Eras forum reports. He is currently away from the forums for a sabbatical. Elrond: Elrond is another writer for the ES, although he is currently away from contributing to the monthly publications. Empress Meg: When not going around the TWC forums swinging a ban hammer with all of her might, Empress Meg also contributes to the running and publication of the Eagle Standard. She submits reports on the happenings of the Empire: Total War subforum of TWC. The Fuzz: The Fuzz is another active user, both around the TWC forums, and in his work for the Eagle Standard. He reports on AARs, as well as Medieval 2: Total War subforum of TWC. Tweety: A newcomer to the TWC forums (comparatively), Tweety submits reports on AARs, as well as some run-downs on the Total War mods available on the TWC site. Prince_of_Macedon: Prince_of_Macedon also contributes greatly to the ES news publication. In addition to smacking people around with the moderatorial banhammer, he also submits reports on AARs. The Lizard King: The Lizard King, a highly respected Content Writer for the ES, interviews various mod teams in their work for the Total War games. He is the lizard king. He can do anything. History The previous Eagle Standard logo The Eagle Standard publication on TWC was founded in March 2005. The original organising members were: Justinian, Managing Director, Editor Belisarius, Managing Director, Editor GrimSta, Assistant Managing Director Spadicus, Article Author Emperor Dimitricus, Reporter Fable, Reporter Imb39, Reporter therussian, Reporter See this post by Spartan in March 2005. Note an early appearance by the now legendary Imb39 in that list. Volume I, Issue I can be found in this thread. That first ever issue contained an interview with the famous modder Gaius Julius.
