Scotland is very much an infantry focused faction. All of their unique units are on foot, and most are melee infantry. Most of their Infantry uses swords or axes, but they also have a number of useful Pike units, including the very strong Noble Pikemen, who are also available in Cities as well as Castles. Their early cavalry is mostly the standard Western European cavalry, but stops advancing after Feudal Knights. Fortunately, though, like all other Catholics in the base game they are able to recruit unique Crusader Order Cavalry from guilds. Their archers are rather mediocre and short ranged. They have no access to Gunners but do have a decent artillery selection. Overall, Scotland is a rather mediocre faction, but it does have some strong units, and their early game melee infantry does beat the early game Sergeant Spearmen of most of the rest of Europe.

Scotland is a faction located in the north of Great Britain. Despite its position however, it has always been oppressed by England to the south and it is up to the player to make England submit to Scottish rule. Playing as Scotland will yield an interesting campaign with the goal of uniting Britain and capturing the holy city of Jerusalem.
