Game Play
Since Armenia is an initially non-playable faction, you should expect some diminished focus on playability since they aren't intended for player use. You can still find a fun challenge and some unique surprises in an Armenian campaign, however.
Starting Position
Armenia begin in modern day Armenia and Georgia, north-east of Pontus, south-west of the Scythians and to the west of Parthia.
Their cities are:
- Artaxarta: Armenian Capital; Region - Armenia
- Koltais: Armenian Large Town; Region - Colchis
Victory Conditions
- Long Campaign: Hold 50 provinces including Rome.
- Short Campaign: Hold 15 provinces and outlast or destroy Seleucid Empire
Units
Generally speaking, Armenian armies are made up of Parthian-style armies, with both horse archers and cataphracts. They have weak early infantry with the exception of the heavy spearmen unit, who can make a surprisingly effective phalanx for troops that hail from such hilly terrain. They also have imitation Legions for their late armies.
