Game Play
Numidia is very hard nation to play. It has poor units and even worse position near Carthage.
Starting Position
Numidia start in south-west Africa bordered by Carthage. They control two cities:
CIRTA- Cirta is the capital city, bordered by the city of Carthage to the East
DIMIDDI- Dimiddi is located in middle territories of Numidia just south of Cirta
TINGI- located on the far west of Africa and often safe from AI attack
SIWA- bordered by the Egyptian faction in the east , Siwa will soon be under attack from Egypt.
Win Conditions
SHORT CAMPAIGN- hold 15 provinces and destroy or outlast Carthage
LONG CAMPAIGN- hold 50 provinces including Rome
Units
Units are mostly cheap desert soldiers. They have bonuses in deserts. There is also al arge variety of light cavalry including Bedouin camel archers.
Unique Units
NUMIDIAN LEGIONARIES- Copy of Roman legionaries these are not so disciplined and highly trained as their Roman counter-parts. They throw pila before charging.
DESERT INFANTRY- Cheap, but mildly effective infantry that is capable of holding the line against light cavalry and infantry.
Strategy guides
One possible strategy with Numidia is to try hard and conquer Carthage early in game so you can make some money. Siwa should be left to Egypt as there is no point in trying to keep it as an isolated outpost from your empire. Build better barracks as soon as possible because only Numidian legionaries are decent soldiers in Numidia. For missile support you can use javelinmen as they are good against elephants and can engage in melee as well.
