'''BRITISH CHARIOTS''': There are 2 types of British chariots, light and heavy. Light chariots are great missile units but are destroyed very quickly in melee. Heavy chariots are great for cutting through enemy lines and have high attack but almost no defence which means they are dead if they stop. They are also very expensive. Both types of chariots can easily demolish enemy morale causing a rout if just one unit of chariots charges into the rear of a nearby enemy. But keep in mind that they can run over your own troops when charging.

'''British Light Chariots''': Can be recruited from Blacksmith.

These men are chariot archers, fast and mobile, and are deadly against enemy archers when in cantabrian circle.
'''DRUIDS''' : Britons share this unit with Gauls. It can be recruited by building a certain shrine.

Druids use chanting to raise morale of nearby allied troops while lowering it for enemies.

'''HEAD HURLERS''' : The Head Hurlers are a fierce unit who throw the heads of fallen foes at the enemy once dipped in quicklime. This not only causes damage, but massive amounts of damage to enemy morale.

'''British Heavy Chariots''': Can be recruited from Weaponsmith.

These units are the Briton's only recruitable non-general heavy cavalry unit. The fact that they are chariots means that they can shred enemy cavalry and demoralize other enemy units. Watch out for enemy phalanxes, however.

'''WOAD WARRIORS''' : Extra powerful swordsmen covered in war paint that causes fear in enemy troops.
+
'''Head Hurlers''' : Can be recruited from Sacred grove of Andrasta. Brutaly effective armour piercing missile attack. In a pinch their melee attack is good enough to charge them into an enemy line but said enemy should rout quickly as they have low defense. Highly mobile because they dont wear armour they are vulnerable to archers and must come close to the enemy if they want to throw missiles.

Excellent attack but very poor defence.

Possible strategy with Britons is to expand into Gauls territory and eliminate their threat while preparing for a war with Romans.

Very cheap unit that can disengage from an enemy if the enemy begins to surrond you.
Another strategy is to attack Germania before they become too powerful before conquering Gaul.

Game Play

Starting Position

Brittania begins in the British Isles. (Click to enlarge)

The Britons start in the British Isles, controlling the entire island of Britain. However Ireland is controlled by the Rebels.

Their cities are:

  • Londinium: Briton Capital; Region - Britannia Superior
  • Eburacum: Briton Town; Region - Brittania Inferior
  • Deva: Briton Town; Region - Tribus Silurii
  • Samarobriva: Briton Town; Region - Belgica

Victory Conditions

  • Long Campaign: Hold 50 regions including Rome
  • Short Campaign: Hold 15 regions and outlast or destroy Gaul

Units

Briton General's Bodyguard.

Unique Units

British Light Chariots: Can be recruited from Blacksmith. These men are chariot archers, fast and mobile, and are deadly against enemy archers when in cantabrian circle.

British Heavy Chariots: Can be recruited from Weaponsmith. These units are the Briton's only recruitable non-general heavy cavalry unit. The fact that they are chariots means that they can shred enemy cavalry and demoralize other enemy units. Watch out for enemy phalanxes, however.

Head Hurlers : Can be recruited from Sacred grove of Andrasta.

Woad Warriors : Can be recruited from Shrine to Andrasta. Woad warriors follow this simple rule: attack is the best defence. Excellent attack but very poor defence.

Very cheap unit that can disengage from an enemy if the enemy begins to surrond you.
