Mysore is an unplayable minor faction in Empire: Total War
Contents
Overview
Mysore was historically a hardy nation that survived and prospered through strategic alliances with the Maratha and the Mughal Empire. Mysore's hatred of the British is famous and it sought the aid of the French in their many battles with them. Mysore's territory reached its greatest extent in 1784, but its fortunes turned and it was brought under British control in 1831, and would remain so until Indian independence in 1947.
Details
Mysore only controls one region; however, it is fabulously wealthy and powerful, with a university, a port, many emerging towns, and abundant natural resources,. Hence, Mysore should not be underestimated and should be viewed as a major power in India in its own right.
Mysore has a tepid relationship with its competitor, the Maratha Confederacy. It may prove to be a temporary ally against the Mughals, or will compete with the Maratha for influence in India directly by declaring war on it.
