This page seeks to be a comprehensive listing of all released Modifications for Total War games, easily navigable so that information can be accessed in a clear and organized format. In order for this page to achieve that standard of excellence, help is needed from all mod creators and fans to constantly keep this thread supplied with updates and new ideas on how to make the information better or more accessible to the end user. Format Information

Modification Name

The name of the modification given to it by the developers. Sometimes this is a general name, other times will also contain a specific version.

Platform

Mods are normally made for a specific and primary platform such as "BI 1.6"(where BI is the abbreviated game name, and 1.6 is the version of the official patch) but may also be compatible with other platforms. Please check the revelant forums to see if a mod has another version available for a different platform.

Those known to have more than one official platform are indicated by the (*) after the name in the table below; those listed with another specific platform in place of the asterisk indicate that the same official build can run off of more than one exe.

Type

Historic - Mod based on a period of earth history
Fantasy - Mod based on either a known work of fiction (book or movie) or upon self-created world
Mythic - Mod based on myth, folklore or possibly legend
Religious - Mod based on a scriptural reference or period which may have no identifiable historical period/setting
Unit Sampler - Mod consists of samplings of units from other mods for the purpose of show-casing said mods
Other - Mod does not fit in any specific category, could be unique, script packs, skin packs, etc.

Mod-Folder

For the definition of a Mod Folder, see this page

= mod not modfoldered (overwrites original game)
= mod is partially modfoldered (some files will overwrite original game; see folder mouseover text for details in table below)
= mod is fully modfoldered (it will not touch original game files)

Mod-Folder Name

Name of the folder that contains all of the files for the mod, if it is contained in whole or in part in a mod-folder. This is provided so that in the unlikely event two mods use the same folder name, prospective players are aware of the fact they'll need to change some things to run both from the same installation.

Campaign Map

Does the mod have a Campaign? Yes/No

Followed by a short description of the geographical area the campaign map covers. For larger maps, this is the continent on which the mod focuses the most, unless a different short description is offered by the mod team.

Era

The era in which the mod takes place. This is a general term such as Antiquity, Medieval, Gunpowder, Modern, etc. used to describe the time in which the mod takes place. Where terms such as "Roman Republic to Empire" are used, this does not always necessarily mean the mod is rome-centric, just that it is during the parallel timeframe.

Download

This is a direct link to a download mirror for the modification. This link is provided to the newest known released version, but in the case that mod teams aren't vocal about new releases, some might become outdated versions. For patches to all versions and the definitive latest version, as well as technical support and installation instructions, it is recommended you visit the official forums or thread for the Mod, or in the absence of such contact the developers in whatever way they've specified.

Minor Modifications

Note: "Minor" released modifications are classified by not having their own section in the Hosted Modifications of Total War Center or The Org, though some notable mods may be moved to Major. This does not characterize the amount of changes the modification makes to the game as minor, it just means it isn't a prolific modification, and is therefore designated in a separate table so as not to make it harder to navigate the larger modifications.
