Platform

The three possible game engines are the original Rome: Total War, the Barbarian Invasion, and the Alexander expansions. Editors: Please use the format Alex BI RTW in this column if a mod has versions for all three platforms. Delete as appropriate if it can only be used on one or two of the platforms. For users: If a mod doesn't appear to use the engine that you wish to play with, it may be worth checking the forums to see if there are any updates, or if the mod can be adapted. If no patch-number is given, then the mod is designed to work with the latest patch for that game engine.

a green folder with red tab = mod is partially modfoldered (some original game overwritten; see folder mouseover text for details in tables below)
a green folder = mod is fully modfoldered - it will not touch original game file

Mod-Folder Name

Name of the folder that contains all of the files for the mod, if it is contained in whole or in part in a mod-folder. This is provided so that in the unlikely event two mods use the same folder name, prospective players are aware of the fact they'll need to change some things to run both from the same installation, and to aid modders in avoiding duplicates.

Campaign Map

A short description of the geographical area the campaign map covers. For larger maps, this is the continent on which the mod focuses the most, unless a different short description is offered by the mod team.

Era

The era in which the mod takes place. This is a general term such as Antiquity, Medieval, Gunpowder, Modern, etc. used to describe the time in which the mod takes place. Where terms such as "Roman Republic to Empire" are used, this does not always necessarily mean the mod is Rome-centric, just that it is during the parallel time-frame.

This is a link to the relevant section of the mod's forum/thread, where a download link has been provided. This link is provided to the newest known released version, but it may be out-of-date. For patches to all versions and the definitive latest version, as well as technical support and installation instructions, it is recommended that you visit the official forums or thread for the mod, or in the absence of such, contact the developers in whatever way they have specified.
